Women's Self Defense

Picture
Active Self-Defense is our women’s self-defense program developed by Sensei Mary Davis-Cates (8th degree black belt) and Sensei Doug Storm (4th degree black belt). With over 60 years of combined martial arts experience, and in collaboration with the Atlanta Police Department’s predator mentality specialist and Kirk Laylor of Atlanta State Penitentiary, we developed Active Self-Defense as a common-sense system that focuses on situational awareness and predator mentality. We teach simple and effective techniques that are easy to execute. We have been teaching this program to the general public, businesses, High School seniors and at women’s shelters in the Atlanta area since 2009, and Atlanta Karate was recognized by the Governor of Georgia for its work with these shelters in 2014. Active Self-Defense is a well rounded program that can accommodate women of all ages. Zoom classes are also available. For more information and pricing please contact Doug Storm at 404-697-8222 or email atlantakarate@gmail.com
